Since I recently bought a '96 EB with 79k on it, does anyone know if I can simply give the VIN number to a local ford dealer to see if there are any outstanding recall notices ? I'd hate to think that I could have something fixed at no charge.....

try this web, you have all the recalls on different issues and brand just click you year and there you go ! don`t bother giving your VIN to the dealer ...they`re not realy that helpful ... unless yo know someone there. Good luck.

Daniel,
Which web are you refering to ? Exploreforum ? Keep in mind I also need to know which recalls did the previous owner collect against. Wouldn't only FORD know this ?
Thanks

sorry I forgot to give it to you ! Yes Ford should be able to give this to you go to the ford web and check under owners, you have a place were it says recalls , yo u have to insert you VIN and it gives you any recalls that are active right now for your model and year, but if you want to know more you have to call them, that `s what I did and they gave me the whole story and even set me appointment with my nearest dealer !! what a service. !
here`s the site !
