I just bought a 10" solobaric L5 and was looking for a decent amp. The sub is wired at 2 ohm and i'm lookin for something pushing around 500w. What is a good company as far as amps go. This is my first system. I guess while i'm at it, whats a good deck. I was lookin at some of the pioneers at best buy and they are having some pretty good sales. What gauge wire should I run from amp to battery and amp to sub?
Thanks in advance

ive always like and owned pioneer headunits, for the features and the price.
id say a jbl600.1 would be a nice amp for the sub and will be easy on the wallet if purchased online.
4 gauge would be what id recommend just in case ya want to upgrade to something later on.

www.ikesound.com I just checked they have the JBL 600 600x1 amp for $195!!!! BUY IT, its a great deal but might be too much power since it really puts out 750 watts. Either buy another L5 at sounddomain.com you get $125 worth of dynomat! So the sub is really only $75. Since you will need some sort of matting when pushing over 300watts. You can get the L5 at ikesound.com for $140. If you dont want another sub you can trust brands like Audiobahn, RF, etc.

Scrap everything I wrote, your sub is 2ohm so it wouldnt work with the JBL unless you only want 200watts. :( sorry. Check out Audiobahn at thezeb.com

Output 4 Ohms: 150W x 1
Output 2 Ohms: 300W x 1 (400Watts)

woodysx you were correct... the JBL puts max power and 2 or 1 ohms and thats why so many people buy them..
if he wired his sub at 2 ohms now and he wires it to the amp he gets 600 watts.. if he gets another and wires that parallel to another one hes running at 2ohm hes get a 1ohm load which each sub would get 300 watts a piece

Yea because the 600.1 puts out 750 Watts, His sub is 400 RMS so that would be too much.

Is the sub dual 4ohm or dual 2ohm? If its dual 2 ohm you could even get the jbl 1200.1 and wire it to 4 ohm and get 600 watts (thats if you want to upgrade later) because you can find the 1200.1 for $50 more then the 600.1. They are defintly good amps.
