I sold my Probe GT in June of this year so I could get this truck. This is what it looked like the day I brought it home.

So I decided the tires weren't big enough (especially since 31x10.5 was this particular trucks factory size) so I threw some BFG A/T's on there, and then painted the flares and the very top piece of the grill black to match the truck.

I didn't like the ugly flag style (non power) mirrors either, so I opted for these.

After a semisuccessful attempt at a side exit exhaust, I decided to just take it off and buy a Gibson. :)

And this is what I sold to get the truck...

Lots of mods.

I was thinking about picking up a car again to work on instead of modding the truck, and had one lined up. My truck is fun and all, but I like good handling, and that's just not gonna happen with the truck.

But I think I might just go to work on teh truck instead, not totally sure yet. As of right now the plan is to pick up a shortblock in the spring, a set of '95 heads, have the cam reground, and do some porting and put it all back together some time over the summer. Rims, possibly leveling coils and 32's, not sure about that yet, I don't want to slow it down too much, and I don't wanna put 410's in both diff's. So we'll see, it's a good truck, I see it sticking around for a while. 130k miles right now though, another reason to get a second "beater" car. :)

thanks for the comments guys. As for whta to mod, I'm still torn. I'd feel better about the trucks longevity if I rebuilt the motor, cause it's goign to get a lot more miles put on it. I have 131k on it now. up from 118k on June when I bought it. As you can see, i drive a lot. So within a year, the truck will have easy 150k. That worries me. I know these trucks are supposed to last, but I'd like alittle more assurance than that. If I got a beater, and droe it 7-8 months out of the year, that would really cutmy milage down on the truck, only beaing driven in fall and winter months.

Swap a 5.0 in there:D with some other stuff you could have one mean Ranger:eek: ......you could probably find a used 5.0 thats still in excellant shape and extremely reliable even with high mileage.

Depends on how much you want to spend though.......

I could do that. I can get a 5.0 motor for $150....my local junkyard has 5 of them. And one of my friends succeded in a swapping a 351 into his 1st gen Ranger by completely fabbing the moutns and such himself. He offered to help me to mine. I would be if we didnt' ahve tight emissions laws here. It's hard to get an emissions test done with such a drastic swap, cause the computer lists only the choices for engines that were available factory. And the 5.0 would put out more emssions than my 4.0. So even if they chose 4.0(and it's hard to find shops around here willing to lie) it would probably still fail due to emissions output. I'd love to, and it's crossed my mind, and the resources are available, but the emissions testing is my hurdle. There was talk here about dropping the emssions laws, if they do that, then it will be taken into consideration. It'd be tough to do with the 4x4 though, Probably need to take the tranny/transfer case from an F150, get a new driveshaft cut to accomodate the different tranny length...etc.

I'd like to find a 2WD splash 2.3 and swap a T-bird turbo couple motor into it, much more straightforward swap. Could still get that to pass emssions still, same displacement motor, just drop the boost down real low, make it run like it was N/A...
