So it's time for a new deep fryer for the kitchen.
The one we have now is a fry daddy type but we would like one of those cool fryer type ones.
What should we look for?
What is a good brand?

We do french fries, cheese sticks but would like to do some other types of food.

give us some ideas.....

Haven't used it in a while in fact don't even know where it is, but I have one of those white ones with the hinged lid and handy backet, don't cost much and work great

we used to have a nice tefal but it broke... so we good some chea pone and it works good..... personally the best deep frying is in a pot full of oil on the stovetop... of course, the downside is dedicating a pot and storing it somewhere as well...

We have a T-Fal Magiclean Fryer and love it. It has the hinged top has a grease filter in in the top that filters when the top is down. The actual fryer part is non-stick and removable, which makes clean up much easier.

Looks like we might just have to go to the stores and start comparing them since there are so many out there. I did a comparison search on the internet and there are a bunch.

Anyways can't help you with your question other then to say good luck at finding anything new that will last. From what I can tell anything new is made to work for a few years then junked. Its strange how that works now-a-days... Just run over to Foleys and go to their kitchen section and ask the people behind the counter which ones they like. Then go to some of those kitchen stores and do the same. You will get mixed results but you will also find out which ones to stay away from that way.

I don't think it's insulting. Most of your best cooks are men, but I thought maybe having it here would get the girls helping out....
I figured we would just go start checking them out, but I thought maybe some people here might already have them and know what are some of the good and bad things to watch for.
Like you said they all get fancy looking but do they work any better then the "big daddy fryer" we have now???

I have no clue what brand my parents' deep fat fryer is, but... if you're looking for some new foods to cook with it, every year my family makes donuts with our fryer. Its kind of an all day process, and it makes a mess...but, ohh, is it worth it!:confused: homemade donuts are the best in the world! they're actually called spudnuts because you use potatoes to make them, and they taste kinda like krispy kremes. I dont have the recipe, but im sure you can find it online somewhere.
I would highly recommend it!
