Go ahead and fork out a couple of extra dollars and become Elite, it's worth it just to be able to post pictures when and where you want.

Happy trails!!

What exactly did you do, to get that much lift and such.. I'm very very interested, specially if i could trash me superlift and do this, the new torsion bar mounts, and arms hang down wayyyy too low

TarHeel085

up front i have 3 inch spindles and 2.5" from torsion bars. I have the stock bolts cranked 95% up. in the rear i currently have 6.5" in the rear from a soa with add a leaf. I am sitting about an inch to high so i am planning on takin out the add a leaf and putting the over leaf back in to give me 5.5 inches. I also have a 3" body lift. I will get some more pics of the ouside tommorrow in the light. I am workin on a bunch of thing all at once as you can see.

the roof rack is gettin painted and i am dropping the light brackets down 2 inches right now the brackets are in the middle of the 4 inch rack i want them on the bottom.

I am rebuilding the audio system. i should have it done this weekend.

workin on the rear soa also

Jeff,
Have you taken a good look at the rear driveshaft? I just had a SOA done on my 95 and when sitting still, the driveshaft is just about fully extended.

Just letting you know.

Are 2WD and 4WD 4dr drive shafts the same length?

jeffseal
01-13-2003, 08:34 PM
is your drive shaft extended more than mine? I though mine was extented out far...

Looks good Jeff. The link to become elite is up at the top of this page, right under the box you would click on to see the photo gallery.

That picture you took of your driveshaft, is that they way it always looks now? I'm not sure it's suppose to be "coming out" like that. I thought it met up flush with the back of the tranny.

Happy trails!!

jeffseal

yeah that is how it always is. i think maybe due to the drive shaft angle. I am going to redo the spring over without the aal and see how it looks then.

I dunno about that, as much as a new drive shaft... It looks like it's about to fall out of the rear end of the trans there.... Doesn't look good IMO.

yes they are 33's

I was planning on redoing the soa without the add a leaf this weekend but we just got a good 6 inches of snow and it is still comming down. Hopefully the driveshaft will be okay when i take the aal out. It was fine today and i had the RPMs way up there when my tires where spinning in the snow.

Man, i'd be really really careful when it went to flexing, i'd be afraid to list some stuff that it could possible tear up:eek:

Happy trails!!

I was thinking that with out the transfer case, that the tail shaft would be farther from the rearend on a two wheel drive, causing your drive shaft problem, I may be wrong, I like the idea of the long wheel base ranger shaft, get that yoke back up in there, lowering the back a little might help, but it looks like yours is hanging by a thread. As for the snow, I have 4 drivers stuck on I-40 at the 157 mile marker, they have been there almost twelve hours now!! Too many accidents, They counted over 15 tracter trailers jack knifed!!

fix the driveshaft now.... or start looking for a new truck once that falls out crusing down the highway at 70mph and you go flipping end over end. it should definatly not look like that. taking the all out isnt goona do anything to help that you need a new shaft

What are the specs on those shocks (front and rear). I am in the process of performing the installation on this lift and I am going to need extended shocks (i think).

Thanks...

jeffseal

they are both stock length. i did the soa in the rear and used the super lift bracket so it also moved the shock mount up so you can use stock length shocks. the front are also stock. I have spindles up front so the A arms are in the same position. Mine is 2wd so you will need longer shocks up front if you are 4x4. if you are 2wd and want to do this lift and waite a few weeks ill sell ya my front end. i am going sas with 4x4

as soon as you get those spindles out i will by them from you. How long you had them? How much did you pay for them? What do you want for them? How soon are you going to SFA?

jeffseal

I have had them less than a year, they give you 3" of lift plus your tosion twist. I have about 5-5.5 up front total. Ill have to check there is already a line of people that want them, I am not sure the fairest way to do it, either the first person who saw the forsale add, or ebay style.

I am hoping to do the SAS next week but ran into a little problem yesterday, I drove 3 hours to knox to pick up my axle, I had to pull it from a jeep, after 2 hours in 6" deep quicksand mud I got the axle out, But it was to heavy to lug down the hill 50 yards away to my car and the forklift couldnt get to it becuase of the mud. Hopefully it will dry up a little so they can get to it in a forklift. :-(
