Okay just changed my thermostat, easy job just tight quarters.

I now I inserted it with the correct end facing the engine, but I was not aware that I had to but the weep hole a certain way.

I have no idea if I put it facing the top or bottom. Does it really make a difference? Now I come here and see everybody says to face it up.

Yeah - it makes a difference. Hole on top lets air bleed through! Look on the bright side - you didn't have to gunk it up with gasket sealer goo!:D
