jimbo74 01-25-2003, 10:17 PM they look ok, but they dont look too sturdy... i have seen a few that had way more solid mounts than that.... one mounts above the frame, and the other end mounts to the spring hangar.....
alphabets13 01-25-2003, 10:25 PM see that's the stuff i need to find out cuz i have no basis for comparison. thanks for your input, i'll try to look into it.
Those look like the type that mount to the bottom of the rocker panels. They are for looks only. I wouldn't use them as a step unless I weighed about 110.

alphabets13 01-25-2003, 10:35 PM holy crap! i though they would bolt onto that strip underneath the rockers? i have to email this co. and find out. i already emailed them about their return policy just in case but i will have to re-email them again. does anyone actually have these and know about them? again thanks for the input.
cdsl227 01-25-2003, 11:22 PM I got the nerf bars that connect to the spring hanger in the back and have a C type with a bolt, C part goes around the frame- bolt goes through.
I had it welded in the front because they flexed when you stepped on em.
Those look real pretty, but...I wouldn't use'em for steppin much.
alphabets13 01-26-2003, 10:53 AM i definitely don't want them for show. i need something sturdy.

Factory running boards and nerf bars only mount to the body like that and they are fine. Most aftermarket step and nerf bars mount to the body on fords. On other makes alot of the times they mount with the body mount, but since fords body bolts come down from the inside that isn't possible. I think they look great if that is what you are looking for.
Keep in mind guys these aren't rock sliders, you just step on them to get in.
sapogmxr 01-26-2003, 11:03 AM I have those. I just bought them from the same seller on ebay. They are very sturdy, and attach to the same holles as the stock running bordes did. Their is only one problem i have. I need to find the stock explorer panels that go down the side of the X's that dont come with running bords to cover up the 19 holes on each side of the truck.

or you could just fill them.
alphabets13 01-26-2003, 11:08 AM sapogmxr, thats the set up i have. i got those holes going down the side where the running boards came off, but i already bought rocker panels to go over them, just have to repaint them first. the dee zee nerfs bolt onto the strip of holes underneath the holes for the rockers right? the strip that is lower and more underneath i mean.

alphabets13 01-26-2003, 11:48 AM you didn't just take those pix did you? thats where i meant, the holes underneath the ones you want to cover up. you could get the rockers at a junk yard or on ebay all the time, fairly cheap too. and you said they are sturdy? you can put weight on these things getting in and out of your X? thanks for your help man.
sapogmxr 01-26-2003, 11:55 AM Haha. yea i just took the pics for ya. You CAN put weight on these. They are strong. Ive been looking on ebay for those panels but i cant find any. If you know anyone selling some, let me know. I havent tried the junk yard yet. But ill be there soon.
sapogmxr 01-26-2003, 11:58 AM Also the Deezee nerfs bolt onto the prethreded holes inside and above the lower holes. There are 3 of them. They also bolt onto the lower holes as you can see in the pic. Each bracket has 2 screws to it. There are 6 screws in total.
alphabets13 01-26-2003, 12:00 PM oh man, thats too cool. i really appreciate that. i'm gonna pick them up. you can't beat that price. ebay usualy has those rockers but a junker will definitely have them. you might just have to paint them. check the for sale section too, somebody always seems to be sellin them. thanks again. i will also definitely keep an eye out for them and let you know asap if i find'em.
Marchand 01-26-2003, 12:49 PM I've also been looking at these, didn't know whether they were reliable or not. I want to get the OEM version that says Explorer on them though ;)

alphabets13 01-26-2003, 08:13 PM marchand, the factory ones are not stainless steel though and WILL rust. thats why they are not worth it to me.
