I am looking for some tips to quite my explorer down. I guess pretty much the engine. I am in the works of sound deadening the inside of the cab and have already fully sound deadened the hood.

What types of tricks are there to quite your engine down, beside actually breaking the engine open.

Belt, water pump, what are some other offenders and are there tricks to quite them down?

Is your Explorer irregularly loud? I don't see why you would want to quiet it down unless it was loud because of a malfunction (such as hole in the exhaust).

No, I am sure this is normal loud. But, the explorer is still louder than many other types of vehicles I have driven.

What kind of noise is it?? If it's road noise, you can get some better tires. I have Michelin LTX and they're super quiet. The only noise I can hear on the highway is wind so there's nothing I can do about that.
