okay, my friend Matt, installed my indiglo gauges today. when he was taking off the dash, all of a sudden, it started chiming and wouldn't stop. We did have the door open by the way. Anyways, we shut the door and it stopped. But when he was all finished, I got home and noticied it was going again. There are no lights on or doors open or keys left in. (oh and i did shut the door again and it stopped) So, I am really confused. I did a search and the ones that I had found they said that their radio was coming on and mine isn't doing that. I know this probably sounds really confusing and I am sorry. I am new to all this, even tho I have had my X for 4 years now, I am just starting to get into this stuff. So please don't think I am much of a ditz.

take off the shroud that covers the steering column and on the ignition cylinder there is a little blue thing that goes into the cylinder. it controls the chime and heres what im talkin about. BTW i had the same problem! http://www.explorerforum.com/data/503/6434mvc-032f.jpg

Yeah, on older Explorers, the collar around the key breaks, and if you wiggle it backwards or forwards, the chime should go off....
