These are pics of typical backroad trail rigs used to take sightseers out to rough country where they can see bears and stuff. They remind me of boggers.

Heading for this pic read: "brrr! I woke up that morning and my eyes were frozen shut. I thought I was gonna die "

Did you ever see that article, I believe it was in FourWheeler about the Toyota tundra's and Lcruisers built for the tundra?
full size toyota's hopped up, locked, with those cravas crossing ladders attached to the front and rear bumpers,
Those were a good example of a produiction vehicle gone badass......similar to the things these guys build in their sheds............

Thats whats it all about, isnt it?

definatly like 'em... and on the "Tundra/Iceland rigs"... the Discovery channel had a whole show devoted to them. its been on a few times, might check out their site and order a tape of the show. they basically take a Landcruiser, add ARB's/gears, cut the fenders WAY high, small lift, and run Dick Cepek 38's and 40's.

That show about the tundra Toy's also shows how they used the lighter fluid technique to seat beads on their tires...

been there, done that. and WAY before i ever saw that show. i keep a can of starting fluid (ether) in my offroad fluid kit.;) swampers are the best... they make an extra-loud "boom".

I hear ya Rick! Especially in the summer when the giant mosquitos are out. They are bigger than you can imagine. My best friend spent 1 1/2 yrs in the bush teaching in a native village. The mosquitos were so bad he spent 2 days in his house inside a tent! Now that's bad.

I have played that game before! Eventually you end up putting your feet in the mud on accident no matter how careful you ato avoid getting out!!! hahahaha

That stuff doesnt look all that deep, how did he get stuck there????

just kidding! Thats some deep goo.......
I bet that Jeep has no problem yanking him out of that rut, especially in 4w low and with the bronco trying to pull his own weight too....Those Jeeps have plenty of torque, even the old straight six and the frames and drivetrains are tough as nails..............

I don't know what he got stuck in but most people get stuck in silty crap up here. Provides no traction what so ever like quicksand your just going to end up deeper.

Looking back at the pics it looks like they are crossing glacier silt where the glacier has receded.
