i did some work to my 96 4.0l a while back, long story short, i replaced the flex plate, torque converter, and oil pump for its 4r55e. since i put everything back together, my o/d light has been flashing and have noticed it will shift hard at random times from 1-2. the hard shifts occur sporadically and the light will flash after maybe 10 miles or so. i got the codes read and it pulled up "0741 - torque converter clutch stuck off". i just replaced to torque converter. ive heard small talk about the torque converter soleniod. could this be as simple as a fluid problem? any ideas?

Perhaps I'm ignorant to this particular transmission, but I used to build custom torque converters and have never heard of a "Torque Converter Solenoid." Perhaps they mean the lockup.

that would be correct, but could the torque converter lockup solenoid be the cause of my recent problems?
