I am interested in information regarding replacement seats. I have a 1992 Sport. After 250000 miles, my driver's seat is worn out. I am interested in information from anyone that would have done a swap with seats from another vehicle. I have had no luck finding Explorer's in a junkyard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is cake man. If it takes you more than fifteen mineuts, shame on you !!!

Four bolts, I am unsure of the size right now, but that is it.

Do the rear two bolts, slide/move the seat back, do the front two. Tilt it back, unplug the wire harness if applicable.

Lift it out. Remember lift with your legs not your back.

to replacement seats for the Explorer.....it sounded to me like he meant that he didn't know if any KIND of seat can fit the Explorer....not actually HOW to do the replacing..

The only stock seat to X stock seat swap I have seen here on the boards was with Benz seats and that was a fully custom job.

I would suggest sticking with stock seats. Are the seat bases and padding still in good shape? If the bases are ok, I would try to pick up some factory covers through here (For Sale Forum), eBay, or one of many online upholstery shops that sell seat covers.
