My radius arm bushings are about to fall out, and ive decided to replace them before my entire front axle breaks off. i did a search and discovered that there are 2 methods to replacing them, either cut off the mounts from the frame where the arms connect to the truck, or pull the coil springs, shocks, and sway bar and pull the axle forward. Ive allready pulled my coils before (when i did the spacer lift) and i found that to be remarkably easy. i was just looking for a little input from anyone who has done the replacement themselves as to which method is easier. thanks!

I'm not sure if there is a concensus as far as which is easier. So far, with three out of four RA bushings replaced (Two trucks), I've always used the cut out the rivets method.

Depends on if you have something to cut the rivits (sp) with.

I did my RABS, both, in a days time, actually less than a day.

As you said pulling apart front end is pretty easy.

pulling the springs and pushing the axle assembly forward is going to be a big PITA. Grind or drill the rivets shouldnt take that long.

I think it is personal preference. Whichever you have the tools for.:cool:

I have had two explorers and I've done it both ways. Cutting and grinding rivets is the easiest way I think. It took me about 1.5 to 2 hours a side to do. Hope this helps.

and grinding the rivets is pretty easy with i four inch grinder and a air hammer:D
