The filter should end up behind/over the battery. Maybe if you cut down the aluminum tuble and attach the rubber boot farther up? Or no rubber boot at all? just some ideas. Or no rubber boot at all? on the 4L 93 the air filter is suppose to be there its not liek a 2nd gen PEACE 410Fortune 03-13-2003, 10:45 PM Right in the pre 94 Ex you have to re-locate the battery in order to run the filter in the same location as the later models and Rangers........... Having it behind the headlight really helps, especially when fed with a cold air feed from behind the grill. Some of the Aerostars and Rangers had a great OEM intake tube, perfect shape for this... Robb 03-13-2003, 11:40 PM The ~~~~~~ shape of that rubber part may disrupt the airflow a little, but IMO, the vacuum of the cylinders will have no problem in that regard. Technically, the roughness will create a higher static pressure, but since the source is so strong, it shouldn't mean all that much lack of flow. The amount of flow desired will be accomplished without any problem IMO. About the heat factor. In an intake system, there is quite a bit of CFM flowing through that small area, so the velocity is quite high. I would think that if there is any "real" heat transfer, it would be in the fractions of a degree which would mean very little, if not nothing, to the combustion process. No rubber boot on mine, plus that tubing seens to go about 4-6" longer then my whole setup. kontinu1, did you think that the hood wasnt gonna close? mine is sittin on the rad. fan and rubs on the hood. |
