iv been wondering latley if anyone has taken the doors off of a late model explorer. If so i would like to know how to do this, like how to undo the wires and such.

13MM wrench
8mm shallow socket

Call your buddy, offer him a tuna fish sandwhich to come over and hold the door for you.

Swing the door all the way open.

Take the 8mm and take the bolt out of the top of the harness connecter. It is pretty long.
You will have to show it a little body english to get it to separate, but it will submit.

Take your 13mm wrench crack each of the four bolts going into the door.
Going forn the BOTTOM TOWARD the TOP, take each bolt out. When you get to the last one tell your buddy to grab hold. ( it is heavy !! ) take the top bolt off ( you may have to do a little jiggle here and there ) now step away.

Enjoy your tuna fish sanwhich

Yeah, that buddy part is important. I damn near herniated myself taking it off by myself:(

i took mine off by meyself, and it wasnt that heave... of course, the panel was already off of it, and it did have the top half cut off, but it still had a window inside of it... and i took a sawzall and just cut off all the wires
