I am going to swap my factory front door speakers with some aftermarket. Something inexpensive, like pioneers or something. Anyways, I have 2 12" mtx subs in back with a kenwood cd player. Nothing awesome but it does pound.

I was wondering if it would be worth it to just replace the factory front door speakers with some aftermarket ones. I wouldn't be running an amp to these, just using the deck for power. Oh yeah, it is a 99 4 door XLS explorer if that makes a difference. Would this even make a difference without running an amp to them? I am looking to get it loud in there without spending a ton of money.

Maybe someone has some 6X8's and an amp for sale? Let me know!

Anything sounds better than the paper speakers from the factory.

it would be an improvment, but I think you would be much happier if you powered them with a amp. Even a inexpensive amp would make a world of difference.
