View Full Version : vacuum distribution off of intake

There is a vacuum distribution point on the intake where most of the points are just capped. On the back side there is one small plastic vacuum line and one large hose which has come undone. This makes the engine die after running for about 5-10 seconds. I am curious where these go and if I can just cap them off. The small vacuum line must be swollen or something, it looks normal but is too big to fit on the nipples on the vacuum point. Can I just replace the connection on the line?

You have a leaking vacuum modulator if you have an automatic transmission. Transmission fluid makes the rubber swell and fall off. Hoses go to PCV, transmission, fuel pressure regulator, and the big one to the power brake booster. And some might have just caps. Not sure what the question is. There is a reason for them all being connected at the factory. Why do you want to change things now?
