Why did Ford put two different airboxes on 97's? I have the conical filter box and a friend has the panel. Same year and same engine 4.0 OHV. Which is a better stock box?

i like the conical better, you can tighten the clamp a little bit and do an open element filter for free - the cost of the filter :) from whats been heard around here, ford did it at random, whatever air system they had lying around.....

The 97 OHV's use the same air box and filter (cone) set up as the V8's.
