My A/C worked fine a week ago but today it doesn't..I noticed the compressor wasn't going on and off like it always did..My compressor goes on in the winter with my heat too..I remember some chatter here on that subject here before too. Anyways it doesnt come on with the heat on as well..My mechanic wants to refill the A/C saying maybe thats why it's not kicking on.Wouldn't the compressor still come on with the heat on? I am weary and don't want to waste $60

The compressor shouldn't come on with heat. Only defrost and A/C.

Unless it has one of those fancy dehumidify things.......but I don't think it does.

Oh yeah and refilling the ac is easy and cheap (20 at the most) if ur x uses the new coolant r13 or whatever it is. Pretty much if u can inflate a tire u can refill ur system.

Yes you are right it was with defrost on with the heat.,Wouldn't the compressor come on still with defrost on? It doesn't need the freon to kick it on..I will refill it myself and see..I remember they did that last year when i bought it.
