Well i dropped my truck off yest to get a few things checked out.
1) Gas mileage sucked, i bought it and was getting 20+ on the highway, now getting 17 or 18..
2) transmission - a little jerk could be felt when letting off the gas from about 60. a small jerk, almost like downshifting, but the tach would stay the same.
3) belt and/or pulleys were squeeking when humid or raining at startup.
4)possible leaking of rear main seal

well they found that the egr was cracked, so they replaced it, and replaced the drivebelt for free which normally isnt covered in my extended warrenty, but they just wrote down that there was oil leaking so they had to replace it. tranny is ok by what they said, they computer and road tested it. the rear mail seal wasnt a problem. they fixed it in one day, and i got it back today morning. spent a little time putting back my apten chip, intake, and just recieved my 2 stainless steel magnaflow tips. 2.5 inch in, 3.5 inch out, and i should be getting my SS magnaflow muffler tom, and hope to get the exhaust job done in the next couple weeks. will have pics up as soon as i can.

I had the same problem with my belt squeeking when there was a lot of moisture in the air as well. I replaced the belt last week and has not done it since. It's been raining all week, flash flooding.......lots of rain. Did they say where and how the egr cracked? The actual valve or the EGR tube that goes to the manifold? Also, my transmission does the same jerk, was this related to the EGR?

they didnt say how it cracked, but i did notice a ticking when floored. i thought it was the manifold itself, so i told them to check it. they did, and said it was the egr, and it was replaced under warrenty. i havent had time to test the jerking of the tranny after the egr replacement, but ill try to see what happens tom. ill let you know.

Ok, I just wondered about the slight jerk in the transmission being conected to the EGR. I'm not sure how it could have effected it except if it caused a slight rough idle or miss. I have had an ignition miss for months and not been able to figure it out. I had replaced the plug wires with motorcraft wires from ford, coil packs, had codes pulled replaced plugs......as the number 4 cylinder was missing according to the dealership. They checked a few things and told me they couldn't tell me why number 4 wasn't firing correctly. Well, I finally put on Taylor plug wires from Summit Racing and it runs better than new. No miss whatsoever, so my ticking that I had under acceleration has also dissapeared. I have not noticed the jerk either yet, so I'm hoping maybe it was the miss that was causing the occasional jerk. The Ford dealers and mechanics around here are hopeless.

Agreed. I'd run like hell if I got 15-17. I'm looking at 13-14 :)

Travis, I'm actually in Hurricane and the Cross Lanes area a good bit. My fiance lives in Cross Lanes. I've seen Josh's explorer a year or so ago and thought it was sweet looking. Your are right, we will have to get together sometime. I have only seen 2 other people from WV, but I may be wrong. Any Idea who the 4th is? We need more on the board!

Josh is my brother, he lives in Nirto now! He's the one that got me into this! There is one other guy from Hurricane on here. I think he just lurks and doesn't post much. I acutally saw a 5th the other day but he hasn't posted for like a year or something, he was from Buchannon.
