Ok today I was going to get a oil change and alignment done on my 92 Explorer. They do the oil change and come out and say we can't align the car because you need new shocks and new front coil springs. I knew I needed new shocks and I ask him how much the springs are going to be he says $375. Is that the right price or are they just ripping me off. I just looked online at carparts.com and I found springs for 71.99 a pair. Are those the right springs if so I will just order them. Here is the link for the springs http://www.carparts.com/parts/sample.asp?reflink=0-0-0-0-0&SegmentId=1&parttypeid=27018&vehicleid=52686&catalogid=&partnum=NONE&dc=

um, needing springs and shocks shouldnt affet an alignment... the only way a shock could was if it was a strut and had failed....

Since you have an 11 year old truck, it might be wised to replaced all that was said but do not buy it from the shop. Buy it someplace else. Shop around for a good price and if you feel you can not install it yourself then bring it to the guy to be installed.

Another route you could go is to get the shocks etc... put on by another shop, and come back to the alignment shop for just the alignment.....
