Last weekend, the big storm here, we got major flooding, and the water outside the house was well over 4 feet high.... until that is when it busted the basement door and flooded the house.....

Anyways unfortunately I had the ex parked on the low part of the driveway, and the water was up over the front of the hood, inside up halfway the center console.... not a pretty sight, I got it started and moved it when I saw what had happened, but it was too late, the insurance said it's a total loss.....
I did though get $6k for it..... and fortunately got all my system out of it, and my optima, but lost some of my 0 guage.....

soooo...... this finds me driving now a 2001 cavalier z24, which is no explorer, but its a nice car, and gets good mileage, has a good amount of power, ( i got the 5spd) and has factory warranty..... but my 12"s wont fit without a fight, so I am going to sell my 12 XE's in my custom box, which was just ported before the flood, hits around 147db or more, and is covered in gray vinyl....
check my thread in the for sale forum......

oh well I am still a little depressed, but at least my car was covered by insurance, and I now have a new car, just gotta start pimpin it out.....

I'll try to hang around the forum still, but classes start again, sooo I guess it'll be sparse visitation, anyways, talk to everyone later,

Sorry to hear that, looked like a very nice X! I suppose now it feel like you are driving on the ground in that Z24, compared to the X.

If you feel like messing with it, you could probably buy it back from the insurance company for next to nothing ($100) and part it out or sell it whole to someone on the board.

I'm sure someone would love to make a nice trail rig out of it. It runs and drives, a little stinky interior won't hurt anything.

hmmm.... I still think I'd be happier with a XXX 15-18" or a digital designs 9515.......
too bad if I had the money the explorer would be bought back, and be a trail rig.... oh well such is life......

yeah the engine ran like crap after I changed oil, and constantly blew water out exhaust...... and I DID feel like I was sitting on the ground....

and an update:

The Z24 that I just got ~1 week ago is now sitting in the driveway unable to drive.......
When I left for work yesterday driving I notice the tranny is a little noisier than it was..... so thinking nothing of it other than to check the fluid when I got to work......I went about my business....anyways, when I left the noise gradually turned into a loud grinding, of course I called the dealer and scheduled an appointment, ( cant get in till monday, of course chevys cant stay on the road) and after work today and grinding getting horrible I got home, went to shift into 2nd coming into driveway....nothing clutch was moving on its own...bumping kinda... and no gears would work, it just stalls out... and now its sitting there, cant even get the shifter into gear, and engine is stumbling....WTF did I buy the most worthless POS car or what?? I want the explorer back!!!!!! this better be covered under warranty, the car only has 22,000 mi on it and is said to be having a factory warranty by the dealer I bought it from........... I knew I shoulda bought another explorer, I would trade the crappy gas mileage for a freaking vehicle that works.... screw you gm......

(sorry for the venting)

Sux to hear about the Explorer. And about the tranny in the new car. Hope GM takes care of it, we've never had a problem with them fixing a car or truck of ours in the past.
