just sold my 01 stang and picked up a 96 explorer xlt.. lookin for some cheap mods. I have a couple 10" subs I'm puttin in but I'm new to X's and dont know where to start. Thanks

I love Explorers but why would you give up a 2001 Mustang for a '96 Explorer? Was the Mustang a V-6?

I did the same with an 02 Stang for a 00 X Sport. I needed cheaper payments as I am buying my first house. The fact that it was a V6 just made it a little easier to do it.

Intake & exhaust udgrades are the first thing you want to to do. We have the Mac Intake for $134.95 at Explorer Express. The exhaust recomendation depends on the which engine you have. Next you do the Pro-M Mass Air Sensor and the Apten Chip. For ride and handling, start with our X-Spec Sway Bars. This is an easy way to improve handling and reduce body roll. Great mod for an Explorer. There is a group buy going on right now on this site (see the group buy section).

The stock sway bars are somewhat inadequote. Here is a picture of our rear sway bar compared to stock. This upgrade will make any Explorer feel more like a mustang. Your 1996 Explorer has a lot of potential.
