I've waded through tons of other threads and still can't find a solution to my problem. Please help!
A month ago while visiting my brother out of town my brakes on my '97 XLT, AWD 5.0L V8 began to grind. So, rather than driving hundreds of miles home on bad brakes, I had new pads and rotors put on all 4 wheels at a shop near my brother's house.
Soon after getting home, my ABS began engaging on almost EVERY STOP no matter what the pavement conditions are or if I brake fast or slow. Basically, as I approach a stop, at approximately 5mph the ABS engages (a pulsating feel I am used to experiencing during the winter months here in Buffalo).
Normally I would return it to the brake shop to repair, but I'm not driving hundreds of miles to have them do it on the other end of the state. What can I do to remedy this (other than paying through the nose at a dealership?)
Also, could this be causing damage to the rest of my breaking system?
