looking for how that tire looks on a 17"X8 rim with 1.5" drop or no drop .... or more for that matter.

do they fill the fenders well?

Nope. You need a 275/60-17 to really fill the wheel well. It will be a bit taller but that's the only way. There's a limit on how much you could drop the Explorer.

i have 255/50's on the front on an 8" rim, and even with a 2.5" drop they are too short. a 255/60 would be perfect.

any pics?

I guess the 255/55'17 at least are the ones i'll go with then.

they are stock height

the 275/60/17 fit on the 8" rim ok with out buldging?they are like 30" tall, that's way to tall you didnt feel the truck fall on it face after that?

if I do 275's I'll go with a 275/50 at a max /17 thats still the stock height of 28".

I deff dont want to kill any gear. I was going to try and gain a bit with the 255/50's but i think it will look funny with a 27" tire

this is what i have......

front
255/50 on 17x8

rear
275/50 on 17x9.5

they look ok in this pic, but in real life they arent tall enough even with a 2.5" drop. go with either a 255/60 or a 275/55. stock height is still a little too short looking with a 17" wheel. a 255/60 isnt much taller.

Here's my 255/60/17's and lowered 1.5". Overall dia. comes out almost dead on stock. Tires are Toyo Proxes ST's which I'm very happy with.

Sorry about the sun spot. I should know better than that. Guess I'm to lazy to walk all the way around the car.
