what tire pressure do you run with 33s on road and off road i was told never to go below 18psi offroad cause explorers weigh more than jeeps and I knock the tire off the bead.

right now i have then at about 33 psi cold on the road and even offroad haven't found anything that would stop me because of loss of traction i just motor up hill climbs and mudd no problem

so what pressure should i be running.??

if you are running the factory 7 inch wide rims I would run about 25-27 psi so they wear evenly

I've seen people run as low at 12 (I think) but I know people have ran 15.

right now i run 32psi but i think i should go lower cause it is not wearuing evernly.

You can mark a chalk line across the tread, and run the vehicle up and down the driveway a couple times. Reading the chalk will then give an indication of how the tread is meeting with the road, and you can air up or down accordingly.

The problem with airing down, is that when you are driving, the tires will heat up and the air pressure will increase. It might be better to keep them around 30-32 psi, regardless of how uneven the tread wears......

how many psi in a stone tire?

i dont know about you guys but when i got my epxlorer i nearly fell over when i registered 50 psi in the tires.....I read the tire closely and found out i had load rated class C tires and yes 50 psi was the max.... Sure makes the ride rougher but i have experimented with different pressures in them and found that about 45 psi gives optimum handling but still quite a rough ride.... i drive my x pretty hard so i like the increased handling ability... i think it would almost be comparable to a sway bar upgrade because the sidewalls dont flex as much. they are wearing really nice too... i have a bit of chop on the one drivers tire but i account this to needing an alignment....other than that ive had them for over 35k and they still probably have at least another 20-30k in them.... in case you were wondering they are wild trac's i dont know who makes them... but after having a leased mounty with firestones on it with a suggested 28 psi (that i never ran at 28) i will be putting the load rated tires on it again.... hope this helps... just my .02 cents....


ps i go offroad with them quite often and they are also great in the sand and mud... to a certain point.... ive never had a problem with punctures even on the sharp mine rock we have up here...
