there is a set of bfg all terrains K.O on my recently acuired explorer on stock 15x7inch rims. I will someday lift higher and change tires to something bigger like a 33-12.50 or 32-11.50. I'd like to know if the 245 can go on an 8 inch rim? I'd like to wear these out before buying new ones. I mainly want the backspaceing to get them out of the wheel wells about an inch I'm thinking either 3.25 or 3.75.

the rims I'm looking at are chrome rock crawlers from 4wheelparts in 15x8 or unique rims from discount tire same looking design chrome steal alot cheaper but they are 15x7

please advise.

p.s. I did search but theres not much info on stock size tires lol.

it most certainly will. at stock height, you can go up to a 31x10.5 tire and 245/75 comes to 29.5x9.6. you will be fine. you can even get them on the stock rims with no prob.

I think I wrote this post wrong. I have 245-75-15 inch tires already on the stock rim. I'm wondering mainly if I can mount these on a set of 15x8 inch rims

or if I get 15x7's is a 31 11.50 safe.

Yes to both. I'm running a 9.5 inch wide tire on 8s. And 31s will also fit on stock rim.
