View Full Version : a/t or m/t?? JThelen 09-03-2003, 12:17 PM well i really wana get 35's for my truck problem is i aint sure if theyll fit i was wonderin if the a/t would fit better because of the less aggressive tread as opposed to the m/t's (BFG) would this be true?? JoshC 09-03-2003, 12:35 PM I'm not a 100% sure, but i would think that both ATs and MTs are the same size, but each manufactuar is different, but a BFG AT and MT should be the same size for each tire in comparison. Also want to look at what you're going to use the tires/truck for. If you just have a poser truck, you may not want a MT. Personal opinion though. justin's_94 09-04-2003, 06:20 PM the m/t lugs might kiss a little more than the A/T, but really look at what you will be doing, weekend flings to the local mud hole might only require a/t, hardcore stuff m/t, lots of highway miles, definitely a/t. NOTAJP 09-04-2003, 06:26 PM The sizes of the tires will be the same. For 35s on a first gen you will need quite a bit of lift and/or fiberglass. 35's will also depend on what size wheel you will be running. a 10" wide wheel will allow the tire to flatten out a little more and won't be as tall as it would be on an 8" rim. 35x12.50R15s will be about 33" tall mounted on the rig. MY 35x12.50R17s are a true 35" tall even with a 10" wide rim and with the weight of the truck on them. JThelen 09-04-2003, 10:13 PM sweet i appriciate it but also how many miles do u think u would probly get w/ the m/t's? cause i had a friend w/ a TJ that had 35 m/t's and they last a good while and are still goin do u think theyd get atleast 40,000?? i know the a/t's will get maybe upwards 50,000 w/ a good rotation but muds are only like 2 bux more a tire so im debating ya know.... |
