I just did mine for $70. Sounds like your boot is ripped.

how can i go about fixing this, what exatcly do i have to get to fix it myself
A friend of mine ripped his CV boot and he said he took it to a Driveline shop and they replaced it for 15 bucks. I imagine he took the Cv out before he took it to the shop though.

You can buy universal boots.
Jefe has a good write up with pics on how to remove the CV.

Do yourself a favor and replace the whole cv joint instead of just the boot...it will save headaches in the long run...

Specially if this boot has been torn for a while. Mine lasted about 1.7k with a torn boot. :(
