Was wondering why motor only pings at or around 2,000 rpm? Why would it ping then and at no other time? Is this a symptem of something specific, or is that typically when it would occur? I clean the MAF fairly regularly, and always use high octain gas (93 or 92). Any suggestions appreciated.

Run a bottle of Slick 50® High Mileage Fuel System Formula through it. It will clean out the carbon and wala no more pinging.

It may just be a badly calibrated portion of the computer program, just a thought.

Mine did the same thing. Only pings in a certain rpm range. I fixed it by cleaning it out with a fuel additive. Techron and Gumout worked for me. Also, many EX owners recommend Seafoam. Most other fuel additives I've tried did nothing.

The fuel treatment stopped the ping and allowed me to burn regular gas.
