i have monroe sensatracs, they suck.

concensus says ranchos are good and gabriel VST. do a search, i am sure there are more good ones but thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

I too have a 93 and I put Monroe Reflex shocks on and they are a huge improvement over stock. It corners better, rides much smoother, and reduces braking dive that I had with stock shocks and even my ProComp shocks that I just took off. The Monroe Reflex are definitely worth the money, and they are a decent off-road shock, too.

I have Rancho RSX's and love them. Zero body roll and truck steers like its on rails.

I have Edelbroc IAC shocks.
Very positive road feel.
I heard a rumor they wear out fast.
I don't know about that. I am only three months into mine.
You may want to consider some sway bars from Explorer Express. HUGE benefit.

Can't complain about my Edelbrocks IAS. They are very good so far in the 3-4 months that I have them. The question of if they last or not is yet to be known for me. :knock on wood: If they happen to not last more than a year, I will try to get them replaced since they have a lifetime warranty.

My second choice would be Gabriel VST. I hear just the same amount of people giving them thumbs up. Plus they only cost $25 each.

Rancho..Less body roll with them and my 2' lift than before with factory shocks.Of course I replaced the springs, too.I haven't seen how they are on washboard or in the bush because my province is on fire and we are banned from the back country.

Go with the Bilsteins if you can get a good price on them. I have them on my 94 XLT 4-door, and I wouldn't trade them. Smooth running on the street, firm going around corners, and a lifetime warranty. Also, they are made by the company that has set the standard for racing shocks (both onroad and offroad) for years. You won't be disappointed.

i just put gabriel vst on our 97 ex. it rides a little bit stiffer but that may have been the 130k factory shocks.

i'll be replacing the 184K mike factory shocks on our 93 this week (they need it bad).

I've done extensive reading of shock topics on this site trying to make the best descision. It seems some people hate a certain brand and type of shocks and some absolutely love them.

I have decided myself to go ahead and get Rancho RS9000X's I'm not into off-roading very much and still have a stock height vehicle but it was really the only option you could adjust to taylor fit to what YOU want for YOUR vehicle.

Go with either RS9000's or RS90000X's and adjust them where you want them.
