I know ya'll are probable tired of my postings going back and forth between the street and offoad look so I promise this will be the last one.

I was looking at 20's for giggles but have decided it is simply more then I want to spend to dress up my explorer.

these are 15x14 in the wrong bolt pattern but the only pic I could find of what I'm looking for. I'm looking at 15x8 inch bart wheels but the come in multiple backspaceing. If I'm correct stock back spaceing is 4.5 they are available in 4inch 3inch and 2inch. I know the 2 inch is out the window and would look alittle goofy with the tires I have. I'm wondering if the 3inch would be to little I like the look of all terrains out the side and plan on swampers sometime after these were out. I was looking at steal rims in 3.25 will the 3inch be that different? any longjevity(spelling) concerns.

I was also thinking of the classic II which has a 3 5/16 back spaceing I see many people with these as well as the 589 which has I beleive a 3.25back spaceing.

these will be run with 245-70-15 for probable a year or intill the were out. will 4inch be enough to get them out the side a bit? Can I run 3inch with only haveing to crank the t-bars or not haveing to trim the body? bumper fender lineing I don't mind cutting out.

once again I apologize for all the questions. I wish the search feature would let me put in numbers.as well.

ok, just please correct me if I'm right but a 15x8 with 3inch backspaceing would be an inch further out then the stock 15x7?

ok I have been digging through old posts since 5:30 and have yet to find any info on 3inch back spaceing. I see people with 3.25 eagle 589's but no one has said anything about 3flat.

also I think I am confused exactly on how back spaceing works.

2 things... 3.25 is only 1/4in more backspacing... not a huge deal. Also back spacing is from the surface where the wheel mounts to the disk brake, to the furthest part on the inside of the rim... if that made any sense..

thanks thats what I was thinking I tried doing some calculations last night and am unsure of weither or not I confused myself more or not. but here it goes.

the 15x7inch rim has 4.5 inch backspaceing so 7-4.5 equalts a 2.5inch difference.

so with a 15x8 inch rim backspaceing of 4.00 8-4equals 4 then 4-2.5 equals a rim that is 1.5inches further outboard then stock. is this correct?

so 15x8 backspaceing of 3.00, 8-3=5 then 5-2.5=2.5 so this rim would be 2.5inches more outboard of the stockrim. Am I right, would I have rubbing problems with these?

correct me were I'm wrong.
