Would 31X11.5X15 fit with tt and shackles. Or would i have to get a body lift also. its a 2000 explorer. what backspacing should i get if i got 15x8 wheels?

Yes they will fit. Im not sure on the backspacing. Probolly 3.25, do a search and see. You can probly find that backspacing on RockCrawler rims. Search it.

31/10.50/15 will prolly fit without the TT/shackles. But I would do it anyway. Every X is different. You are going to want 3.75 backspacing.

sapogmxr: do your tires rub at all with your body lift. Do you think you could go another inch wider ?

My tires dont rub at all. I have 3bl and 2inch suspention. Im getting 33/12.5's. they shouldnt rub. I doubt it.

i can get a good price on some 31X11.0x15 thornbirds, but i think that the side lugs on them would hit the plastic even with the 2in lift. i'm really not for sure though. what do you guys think?
