Hey what's your guys' opinion of the Cooper Discoverer S/T's or just Coopers in general?

I hate 'em. Some people like them but I've seen way too many accidents involving friend's vehicles with Coopers to have a good opinion of them.

i don't know much about the tread pattern on the discoverer ST but i have the same tire with a different tread (the Mastercraft Courser MT). i'm happy with mine.

just hope you don't get one that jamest built on his shift!

I have Cooper Discoverer H/T on my wife's Rav4 for about 15k+ miles now. No problem yet.

I know Procomps are Cooper, but the tread compound, construction, and tread seem totally different.

I had cooper discoverer ATs (235/75R15) on my dads old 88 dakota sport 4x4 and they worked great in snow and handled very well in the rain and dry weather

I've got Coopers on my truck and I'm extremely satisfied with their performance.

They handle well in all weather conditions.

I know Procomps are Cooper, but the tread compound, construction, and tread seem totally different. hate ta tell ya, but its not. if im building a 33x12.50, it could be 5-10 different tires. depending on what mold it goes in, it may be a Pro-Comp AT, MT, or X, or a Discoverer STT, or ST, or a Mickey Thompson Baja Claw, etc. its the exact same tire except for the lettering on the side and the tread pattern which is dictated by the shape of the mold its cooked in. :)

the Disco ST is a decent all-terrain type tire. pretty middle of the road in the pack of other AT's.

I run an off brand made by Cooper, and I've been pleased with their performance and longevity.

I can't vouch for their longevity. I bought my truck with fresh-looking Discoverer A/T's though. 26k miles (and 12 months) later, they're worn pretty bad and won't make it thru this winter. Last winter they were great, though. I climbed probably a 50-degree incline in the snow with them without a problem! They made a lot of noise around corners after I put bilsteins on. Other than that they've been extremely quiet until they've been at the treadwear marks. For the money I'd definately recommend the A/T's, but go for the light truck version. I think the passenger ones i have contributed to a seemingly short life.
