heres what i want to know?
I have a 2001 explorer sport and i have ( shift on the fly wheel ) i think! to engage my 4x4 i just turn the numb either too high or low or back to normal.

Now I was out on the week end went to a park at night time with some friends and stuff and I iss lead my turn into the the parking lot , so here i am in the ditch shes yelling and so on, i was like its ok i have 4x4 i turn it on nothing i was pissed i had to get out put my peewee friend in the divers seat and myself and 2 others were rocking the trucking cause the drivers side rear wheel was up in the air manged to get out, but why wouldnt do anything?

Your 4X4 lights came on?

You might have been in such a position that two of your wheels had no traction....

I understood about 7 words you said, were the front tires spinning at all?

I think the problem is he has no traction when his wheels are airborn. I would look at a locker or a detroit truetrac
