if your battery goes dead after cleaning it for 15 mins then you need a new battery. i can have all the doors open (makes dome lights come on) and have the radio playing for at least 30-45 mins and it still starts up every time for me

you can jump it. however if i were you after its started i'd go and buy a new battery. and take your jumper cables just in case.

Sure, you can jump it. When you do this make sure to hook the negative(black) clamp to a ground on the donor vehicle also be sure to hook the black clamp to the explorer battery last to prevent arcing. I usually hook the black clamp on the donor car to the alternator bracket. This will prevent you from blowing the computer on the donor car. Another tip is to be sure the donor car is running and allow the donor to recharge your battery a bit before attemting a restart. Take the donor car just above idle for a minute or so then go ahead and start you explorer.

After all this you may want to find out why your battery went dead in the first place, need to be sure your battery is holding a charge and also check if your alternator is charging your battery. You can take it to a pep boys and have them do a charging system test.

Good luck.

Also...check to see if there is corrosion between the battry posts, and battery cable ends. Sometimes that can give the symptoms of a bad battery...
