My explorer 97 XLT didnt start this morning, last night was perfect.

I used the AUTO X RAY EZ-LINK scanner and got code 325: "knock sensor circuit malfunction".

Where is located this sensor?. Please, May I have a sensors map location?

Some pictures or graphs?

Please, How to solve this problem?

I'm assuming you have the SOHC engine because I'm not aware that any of the other engines have a knock sensor. The knock sensor is located under the lower intake manifold. It's not too hard to take the intake manifolds off, but it does take some time.

My mechanics were directly front down the engine and

contact the sensor on the crank shaft. It was lossen

and dirty, clean with "spray 3M 16-102, contact cleaner"

and the engine start easy.

We run the EZ Link sscaner egain, clear the data, did a new configuration, scanner again and the trouble code 0325 disspared.


How ever I want to know the functions of all sensors and its location.

Please I would appreciate a diagrams for engine SOHC

with indications of sensors locations.

How to verify the sensors malfunction or how to test them?

That was your crank position sensor they found the problem with. The easiest way to get pictures of all the sensors and locations is to purchase a Haynes manual. It gives you a description of what each one does and it also includes the list of trouble codes.

In Venezuela, our country, we can´t buy this Manual because it is printed in USA or Canada, and by the control exchange we can´t get $. All $ is under goverment control.

Unbelievable, we can´t import books. Our credits cards don´t let to by in $.

Our Political situacion is critical.

I would appreciate only a copy of some sheets with the relative information and Sensors locations diagrams.

Also we can accept with great pleassure an thankfully a used copy of one of this Haynes Manual.

If some body can send this used Hayne Manual or used magazine relative to Sensors, this is my address.
