I have a Midnight Pumpkin and well I decided I wanted a 4x4 RC. I found what I thought was a good deal on Ebay...unfortunately I was looking for a Nitro model and in my haste I bid in the last couple of minutes only to realize that it was electric. Probably better for me anyways.

I wanted something I could take to the local BMX track and hit some jumps with or do some rock crawling. Is this a good truck? I paid around $160 shipped. He says all I need to run is a new battery pack.

Here is some info from the auction:

HPI RS4 MT 4x4 racing truck
Tons of hops ups.
Carbon fiber chasis, titanium turnbuckles and axle shafts, anodized motor mount, carbon belt tensioner, carbon front brace, carbon fiber axle holders front and back, colored shock springs for racing, triple wound motor, Rebel speed control, metel gear servo, lightweight screw throughout, Futaba reciever, two bodies, etc.

It looks like from the description, that it should be pretty tough. I really like the monster look and don't know if I'll like this stadium low rider look. Can this truck be made to look beasty? I admit that the VW Beetle body looks pretty cool and I may have to get that.

Any help, advice, tips, or sympathy would be apreciated. Was this a good deal?

they are good... the aftermarket isnt too much there, but there is still a lot you can do to them......

A friend has one. It is great. He has a 10-turn double motor, so it is pretty fast. He broke the stock chassis, but the carbon fiber one has held up fine. All of those parts definitely improve the stock kit, so you bought a great truck in my opinion. :)

Thanks, I'm glad to hear a good opinion about it. I am guessing that with all the mods done to it, it will hold up pretty good. I am still waiting for it to arrive...hopefully it gets here before the snow!

I just bought a barely used Blackfoot. I'm going to do it up for my daughter...umh, maybe she'll let me play with it too. That will satisfy my urge for a monster truck...for now. I'll probably get that Explorer Body that Parma sells and whatever one she picks out.

Definitely get the explorer body. www.towerhobbies.com has it for a pretty good price. I don't have it but I am meaning to get it sometime.

Does anyone know if it is a 2 or 4 door?

I saw a pic of the Parma one and it is a 2 door...looks like the 2nd gen body style...it will look just like mine.

A previous post listed one from Bolink(I think that's the co.) but i didn't see it.
