I have started to notice a metallic sound.......It happens when the car is at 3,000 rpms, the closer it gets a faint metallic sounds happens and goes away when the car shifts. It happens most of the time when i am givin her hell, from stops or passing. What is this problem?? This sound can only be heard when the radio is off, thats how quiet it is.

Do you know where exactly? In the tranny? Drivetrain? Wheels?

The last time I heard of these symptoms in my car was 15 years ago when my '76 Mercury Monarch run out of oil. Not good. You might want to check if your fluid is fine.
