Engine dies after ride when I shift into park? It will start fine but My 92 Explorer will intermittently die after a short ride when I shift into park before I turn the Key off. I haven't done any thing as of yet before checking with any Ideas or help from here. As allways thanks to all for any help!!!

is it like the engine is turned off of bevause it stalled. check your transmission fluid also does it die when you put it into neutral

Does it do it all the time or every once in a while? If it is every once in a while, check to make sure your key chain isn't getting caught in the shift lever. I have had this happen and when you shift into park it will shut the ignition off.

I think that Billy177 has a good idea I will check my transmission fluid, change it what the heck. I just picked this baby up a couple of days ago. Who knows how long its been since the last change. Thanks for both your replys guys!!!::o

By the way it appears to happen after its warm. Its doesn't happen in neutral and My key chain isn't at fault. Thanks again I'll let You know My findings...
