View Full Version : Thermostat instalation procedures Billy177 12-06-2003, 10:38 PM i just ordered a new fail safe thermostat and i know how to put the new one in but i am unsure on how to drain some of the coolant out and refill it without having air bubbles. i have a haynes manual but that dosent help much aldive 12-06-2003, 10:43 PM When I did mine, I did not drain any' just let a little spill and simply added some back when finished. Good luck...... jasonb 12-06-2003, 11:03 PM to drain some, you would unscrew the petcock on the lower passenger side of the radiator. its a yellow or white plastic plug. just remove a litte in a good container so you can dump it back in when your done.
