View Full Version : Check Out My New Bumper!!!!
Chad Spalding 12-28-2003, 05:19 PM It's not finished yet but at least I can mount it and it looks finished. It is all 1/8'' steel plate, no not too thick but it suits my needs.

XplorerKid 12-28-2003, 07:28 PM VERY VERY nice looking
PEACE
hvac man 12-28-2003, 11:53 PM Damn! who built it and where can I get one :D It looks a lot like the XJ bumper I am going to retro-fit to my explorer.
X~FACTOR 12-29-2003, 12:31 AM Talk about added ground clearance. Nice, man.
Btw- I see a little positive camber on the first picture. How's your alignment?
AlaskanJack 12-29-2003, 01:02 AM Nice and I checked out your Cardomain page. That roof console you made is sweet.
Chad Spalding 12-29-2003, 11:19 AM Thanks for all the compliments. Everything that I put on my truck, I make, that way it will be exactly what I want and need. Btw- I see a little positive camber on the first picture. How's your alignment?
It is just how the picture is, the front wheels are turned just a little bit so it looks like the camber is off.
DeRocha 12-29-2003, 12:29 PM Very nice clean work...
zensius 01-12-2004, 07:52 PM What's the link to your truck on Car domain? I wanna see your console too!
Chad Spalding 01-13-2004, 11:06 AM Its at the bottom of my post where it says 'home page' or just click here. (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/254092/1)
zensius 01-13-2004, 11:18 AM Nice!:)
Carl D. 01-13-2004, 11:32 AM Excellent, really nice, looks very durable and not to heavy.
prerunnersvo 01-16-2004, 03:46 AM 1/8" plate is plenty thick, most people overbuild bumpers & when they get into accidents, they trash the frame rails instead of the bumper
jimbo74 01-16-2004, 03:53 AM that bumper is cool
nak4af 01-17-2004, 04:23 PM I went to your Cardomain site and you have done some nice custom work to your rig! What is the overall weight of that bumper? I was sold on a JD prerunner with receiver but dang! That thing takes the cake!! Would you consider making one? If so what would the price be??
Nice truck!! Very clean installs!!
Chad Spalding 01-18-2004, 12:58 PM Thanks gents, I would love to make more of these bumpers, I am not sure what the cost would be cuz for this one I had a lot of scrap metal laying around, I only had to buy one 4x4 sheet of steel plate, and I bought that from a friend so I don't know how much it really costs.
I'm not sure of the weight of this bumper but it weighs the front of the truck down only 1/2" or so but it still has the interior frame that is strong enough to hold a winch and hopefully I will get to see how really strong it is soon, when I actually get a winch.
JoshC 01-18-2004, 02:12 PM Good job man, that looks great! Should hold up to what you would need it for.
Did i see hubs on your D30 on your car domain site??
cdsl227 01-18-2004, 02:50 PM Very nice work...
Chad Spalding 01-18-2004, 05:38 PM .......Did i see hubs on your D30 on your car domain site??
Yeah, it is a D30 from an Early Bronco, they basically have the D44 hub and rotor.
JoshC 01-18-2004, 08:24 PM Cool, didn't realize they had that.
bigdaddykarl 02-03-2004, 08:23 PM So nice.
Anytime you wanna fab one up for a 97, you just let me know, I'll be more than willing to lend you my truck for a test mule!!

Josh if your looking for some hubs, warn makes a Manual hub conversion for the Jeep D30 like ours, the Warn kit is ~$700, but mile marker makes the same kit for much cheaper
Heres a friend of mine that has this kit
