I got so excited when I went to Sylvania's web site after seeing a post in here about SilverStars for the fog light bulb replacements. I ordered 3 bulbs, the H3-ST's and guess what? They don't fit. Anyone have the exact number of bulb for the replacement to a 1998 Explorer with the rectangular lenses?
Thanks in advance,
HotDogs

That is correct. They are 899's. So here is an insert from there web site. How did I get off track here? These certainly will NOT fit my 98X.
Fog/Driving light
Part number = 899
Part number = H3-55W
Upgrade Part Number = H3ST
Silverstar High Performance Halogen Upgrade - Whitest, Brightest, 100% Street Legal
These will NOT fit my factory rectangular foglights.
It's because Ford mislabeled them as H3s and all the aftermarket followed along.

Are the bulbs in an adapter like the H1s in my '99 fogs?

Thanks Alec. From all that I read it is the H1's. Will call Sylvania Monday morning and get it straighted out. Certainly hope they fit. LOL, for I am NOT a mechanic.
