View Full Version : where to buy lift kit online ForTiLLiaN 01-04-2004, 08:09 PM IM looking to buy a 6" lift for a 92 XLT. Thanks NOTAJP 01-04-2004, 08:10 PM 4Wheelparts.com has great customer service and you can usually catch them giving free shipping. I'd invest in a SAS, it'll save you money in the long run, trust me;) . ForTiLLiaN 01-04-2004, 08:14 PM what is sas? Im looking for a 6" suspension and 3"body lift with 33's. NOTAJP 01-04-2004, 08:18 PM SAS: Solid Axle Swap. You could fit 37s with that much lift. 4" sus is all that is required for 33s. What part of WA are you in? ForTiLLiaN 01-04-2004, 08:21 PM maple valley. I would like larger tires but i hear that my axle could really handle em. NOTAJP 01-04-2004, 08:29 PM I don't know where Maple Valley is. It all depends on what you want to do with your rig. 35s are still realistic if you are not hard on it. This is where the solid axle comes in. I have been through several front ends on two different Exploders with various parts/lift kits. I have never been happier with my solid axle now. it rides/drives/flexes better then a stock explorer and the durability is awesome. Check out my thread on the SAS and the many pictures on my gallery for ideas. I'm about to do a SAS for another board member and I'm sure he could tell you about the thousands ($) invested before he got to this point. ForTiLLiaN 01-04-2004, 08:36 PM anything else i should look into doing, to keep problems from arising? Maple valley is between enumclaw and renton. My tranny wont go into reverse until the trucks warms up which sucks, and im looking to replace, and then my front splicer joint things. NOTAJP 01-04-2004, 10:14 PM OK, you're way over there. That's about a 500 mile trip so for you to drive here and do the SAS may not be so good. 95% of my problems have been suspension and/or front end related. The rest of the truck is very well built. The usual maintenance is best. I don't konw much about the automatics as I won't touch one. I have heard they need rebuilding from time to time. Do some searches and maybe some of the guys could give you some secrets on the tranny side. |
