Good evening, getting the tranny serviced on the wife's 99 Mounty tommorrow, truck is 5.0, auto, 2WD, what is the tranny number?
Is there anything i should have the mech. look for while he has the pan off?
Hope i am not opening a can of worms with the fliud/filter change, alot of horror stories about this making an old tranny worse!has 80,000+ and I doubt it has ever been serviced.
Advice please, all the vehicles I have ever owned have been manuals...until i got married!

Are you getting it serviced at the dealer? If so, have him them do a full flush along with a filter change.

No,A local wrench is doing it for $125.00, complete fliud and filter. Ford dealer quoted me $198.00, they must use to goldplated wrenches!
