View Full Version : Welcome
Diff Whack Daddy 01-12-2004, 01:00 AM Thanks for the new forum Rick. I had no idea it would be set up that fast. Anyway, I am in the Mount Vernon area, very close tho the Walker Valley ORV area. Hopefully there will be more people available to play with now that we will all know where each other is at.
jrgaylor 01-12-2004, 07:12 AM Walker valley looks like about a 2-3 hour drive for me, which is do able unless I damage something there.
Joe

That's great. I've only been at this base for 1.5 years so the chances of knowing anybody is nill, however, if he ever sees my Exploder tell him to say hi.
Hey! I just found this forum! Niice!! I'm up for a trip anytime if I don't have class or work to interfere. My X is stock though :( I'm way up in Bellingham, but I'm down near Seattle quite a bit too. :D
NOTAJP 01-20-2004, 09:26 PM Welcome Gina. I remember the days of wheeling a stock Exploder. Yeah, I was on the end of a tow strap more then my own power; but it was fun! I'd wheel with a stocker anyday. That way you could see what a real Exploder should look like. :D
BigMac 01-27-2004, 11:48 PM hey i finally found somebody that lives in washington. I live up in arlington. When ever you guys go shoot me an e-mail. I'm not from around here. I just got stationed down in everett. I'm in the navy. Never been trail riding yet. It would be my first. Never been to walker valley. Here alot of things about it though. Hope to here from someone. :D
jrgaylor 01-28-2004, 07:14 AM Bigmac- welcome to the site, Maybe some of us get get something going in the next month or so, my explorer is going to be down for about 2-3 more weeks depending on the weather, due to tranny replacement.I do not know where you came from but it happens to rain a little in Washington so you should extend your breather lines on your axles, transfer case, and transmission.
Joe
AlaskanJack 01-28-2004, 08:47 AM Am I too far North for this NORWEST Club????:( Does it count that I am orignally from Oregon???;)
Maybe it should be called the PNW-Explorers or to confuse some the North-Coast-Explorers hmm maybe even PACWEST-Explorers
NOTAJP 01-28-2004, 08:52 AM Augh Kurt, you can count. Any native Duck is good for me. :)
Besides, if we let you in we can be in good standing with EEO for members being handi-caped.
:D
Would be a blast to wheel with you someday.
SnowExploder 01-28-2004, 01:05 PM Welcome Bigmac!
Anyone want to plan something for mid february? Walker Valley, Tahuya...? I think(crossing my fingers) my ex will be done in a week or two(front diff, 5.5" superlift). I want to go exploring!
bmotoX 01-28-2004, 02:56 PM i'm up for a run any time;however, next weekend my X is hopefully getting the straight axe. So this weekend I hope to give my ttb a good fairwell beating. specialy because skyjacker sent me a new 6" drop bracket that looks beefy. compared to the 3 old ones i've broken.
jrgaylor 01-28-2004, 08:35 PM Mid febuary looks good I should have my tranny fixed by then ( it sucked coming back from tahuya with only first and second).
Brian- good luck with SAS.
Joe

Diff Whack Daddy 01-29-2004, 07:02 AM Welcome BigMac, I am about 20 miles North of you in Mount Vernon. I just moved up here from Arlington. I was stationed at Everett, but now I'm at Whidbey Island.

jrgaylor 01-29-2004, 07:12 AM The ball is starting to roll:thumbsup:
Joe
BigMac 01-29-2004, 10:19 AM That sounds great. Anytime in feb. is good for me. I need to know atleast a week in advance just incase something comes up. Navy is always doing something.

Albino 94LTD 01-30-2004, 09:28 PM Howdy, new guy with an almost stock '94 Limited in Newcastle.
Katie says there might be a run the end of Feb. I haven't done any serious 4x4 but would like to check it out.
Any details for a Feb run?
dreamr 02-03-2004, 08:45 PM Wow we NWesterners get our own forum huh? Pretty nifty. I would love to get together with a group to do a run. My X is still pretty stock (see registry in sig), but if it's not too bad I'll tag along. Also if any of ya are fishermen, we might have to do some high mountain lake fishin this summer.;)

I love the fall salmon run on the cowlitz, green(cowlitz county), toutle, willipa, satsop rivers. I am not very big on the smaller fish.
Joe
dreamr 02-03-2004, 09:13 PM I actually haven't been out for big fish around here. I have this need for the high country, and love nothing more than a nice rainbow coming up from the depths to take my bait as if he were a spirit coming from the reflected rock and glacier. I miss summer soooooooo bad. To be honest I think I seek the montain lakes more to avoid the crowds, but may enjoy a day on the rivers.
Albino 94LTD 02-03-2004, 09:16 PM HMMM. Fly fishing on a high lake you have to have a 4x4 Ex to get to!!!!
I'm in.
When and where? tell me, tell me, tell me oh PLEASE tell me!

See I knew there were people in the world who though like me:D
When and where, We should start thinking of that. Almost everywhere I have gone this last year was in my VWgolf, or on foot so I don't know about very fun wheelin,(though I did crack the frame lol) With all the october flooding any where over here has an added level of interest though.
Interested in a short hike at the end of the road?
I'll have to dig out some topo's before the ice melts up there.
Albino 94LTD 02-03-2004, 09:42 PM I have a terible need to fling some feathers!
Let's take this off-line?

dreamr 02-03-2004, 10:13 PM if ya don't hear from me soon drop a line, I sometimes forget I have an e-mail now that I found the explorer forum lol. You're just down by renton right? Might have to check the lake reports up around the edges of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area, see how much snow there is, some of those forest roads don't see much traffic , especially not in winter. could be interesting if we go up before the thaw really sets in, but maybe not as much fun for the fish. Any body else?
