Date this year for the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA, is June 4-6th, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, as usual.

Since we did Paragon last year I'm goin to humbly suggest Raush Creek for this year. We can alternate them every year?

Here's the game plan for this year!

FRIDAY, June 4th

Arrive at Wormleysburg, PA ECONOLODGE at assorted times, pay $15-20 per person, preferably CASH upon arrival. See me when you get there!
DIRECTIONS to Hotel:
From I-81, take exit 65 (ENOLA) to Route 15 South. Stay on Route 15 South for appx 3 miles, hotel is on your RIGHT. You will pass Autozone, McD's, Texaco, etc.
From the Pa turnpike/I-76:
Take the exit for Route 15, pay toll, go NORTH. 15 turns into Route 15 / Route 11, Stay straight. Pass unfinished Shopping mall, road splits up, stay to RIGHT and follow 15/11 North. When the road ends at the river, go LEFT (still on 15/11 north). Hotel is appx 3 miles on your LEFT.
BS all night and clean trucks for show


SATURDAY, June 5th

8:30am SHARP!: Leave Econolodge, get on Route 81 South. Take to exit 47B, (North Hanover Street/Route 34North) follow to Fairgrounds entrance.

10:00am (ish): Enter Fairgrounds, park trucks, more BSing

10:30am-4:00pm: Have a blast!

4:15 pm: Head across street for group picture

4:30pm: Head to Applebee's for grub

6:00pm (ish): Get on I-81North, drive to Pine Grove, Pa

7:30pm: Arrive at Pine Grove Comfort Inn, check in (again, cash in hand would be appreciated, same price as before)

8:00pm: CHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OWT

SUNDAY, June 6th:

8:00am: Check out of Pine Grove Comfort Inn, leave for Raush Creek (I-81North to exit 107)

8:30am: check in!

9:00am-5pm: Wheel our @$$es off! :D :D :D

6:00pm: dinner back down at the McD's in Pine Grove, then head home for some much needed sleep!

Now this schedule is not set in stone, merely a timetable to try and get everyone where they need to be at the right time. Things never work out the exact way I post them, so y'all just need to remember to be patient and listen to what's going on so no one gets seperated or fed up.


Some things you should know:

1) Carlisle's police department makes 70% of their revenue from the Carlisle shows.... they can AND will pull you over for the dumbest thing imaginable, so try not to get their attention, ok? (IE: obnoxiously loud music, burn outs, driving like an @$$, etc)

2) Raush Creek is pretty lenient on requirements and they seem to really like us, so no bad behavior there either, ok? I'd like to be invited back again...

3) When you have over a dozen trucks travelling together, some won't make it through the lights/stops, etc- which is why we pull over and wait for them. Lifted trucks are naturally much slower on the highway, plus we don't need speeding tickets, so just be patient and fall in line instead of being a jerk and taking off or racing away from the line. It's also a VERy good idea to get yourself a Cb radio so you can keep in touch with the rest of us!


That said, I can't wait to see all you crazies again in two weeks- it's gonna be the best one ever!!!! :bounce:

Of course I will do my damndest(sp?) to make this one. Two years in a row running, I wouldn't want to miss the third.

Why not both? Hooters & car show can go hand in hand.. Then again, I'm never tired of seeing boobies.. I can see them anytime I want, I have a GF that works at a strip club. But some new ones would be nice. Looking at the same ones can get boring..

There was a hill over by the fire department I wanted us to use last year for the group pic, but I think everyone just wanted to get out of the rain. IMHO, it would be a better place than Applebee's to fit all the trucks in the pic and still be able to see each clearly.

I'm going to rent a room at the same Hotel we used last year for Friday night and say 'The-heck-with-camping, I-can-do-that-all-summer' for Saturday night and get another hotel room (that way if it rains I'm already one step ahead!).
As always, any one who wants to cut costs is welcome to share floor space with Bri and I as long as they pay their part of the bill ;)

If we have that many people go I don't mind reserving as many rooms as you guys want (I just won't use my card this time so it puts a draft on my money like last year, lol).

Everyone ok with Raush Creek for a change or do you guys want to go to Paragon instead...or somewhere else I don't know of?

We stayed in a hotel last year. We usually go in on some rooms together to cut costs. If you would rather camp out that would work too.

When we get about a month away I'll do a count and see who needs a room for what night(s) and make the reservations...anyone who wants camping, I can post addresses of campgrounds/ phone numbers if you want, but you're gonna miss all the fun at the hotel ;)

Worse comes to worse, I can scare them away with my gun if the PA police is willing to accept my CCW permit from Maryland:D I probably won't carry it with me, too much to risk carrying out of state... maybe Spas can bring her rollback and pull some of them out for me.

I am going to see if I can borrow my Aunt's RV and tow the Explorer behind... if not I will probably stay in a hotel for both days... one night in Carlisle and one night near Raush Creek? or Paragon? I guess we're going to have to vote on that one Spas... I would like to do RC again. And as for Hooters.... crap my kids see worse than that in their schools... but Jeff is right...Hooters is not the place for her and we would like to keep this family oriented if we can.... Personally, I love Hooters wings...they are the best!!

Cool thing about Rc is if enough people want to go (and it doesn't fall on a a pre scheduled Raush Creek weekend), we basically get to have the park to ourselves!

If we do wheel, RC will probably be less crowded that weekend, since it's GonZookin' weekend at Paragon and they will have at least 50-75 Zooks running amok. I was really bummed when I found out both events (Carlisle and Gonzookin) were the same weekend. I was supposed to guide for Gonzookin', but oh well :(

yeah lindsy i got the skyjacker. i'm putting it on and regearing next week on my spring break. i should be picking up my 36's on the way home friday and selling my barely used 33's. i'm rebuilding the front end as well. this truck costs me tooo much right now to run all the time, so i'm doing what i want and continuing to use my wrangler as a daily driver. i'm gonna get the truck all cleaned up and looking real good. theres a few problems that need to be addressed but hopefully all my new parts come in by next monday so i can start. i have been searching for a rear SOA kit and i hear about it but nobody seems to know what it is. thats the only major sticking point right now.

I do beleive skyjacker makes an SOA kit for our trucks. but why not just buy new spring perches and weld them on?

I think Doug is going to suffer from emotional distress by the time he leaves for Army basic training.. We need to see some more photos.. Any photos of him wearing female clothing?

Actually Tara, Tank's just a jumbled mess of wires right now- my so called 'switch' panel is just 3 switches held together with electrical tape :eek: I'm definitely no professional, LOL. Would probably help if I could cut straight holes in ABS plastic to hold the damn things :p

No worries, Tim. So far the plan is for him to meet me in Stoughton. You may as well meet there, too since we'll head down I-95. In fact I'm gonna try and get ahold of one of my LOD buddies in the same town and see if he's goin. Eric decided to sit it out this year since he spent his money on a set of 17x9 Cobra R's for his Mark. Are you heading down in your explorer, and not the Bimmer? I'll see if Matt's sold his CB radios yet. We may save them for the trip down. We may also have to figure out accommodations too. Lemme know!

I'll be heading down in the explorer due to the fact its an All-Fords meet :p I'll have my own CB by then since I'm hoping to go to Paragon or wherever the group is headed offroading (by that time i'll be on the 33's) and its required equipment.

know whats funny... well actually reality... every year, this thread opens up mad early and a crap load of people say their going.... for the months before the show all these people promise to be there.... but then the weekend of the show .... less then half the people show up.... whats up with that???

But if you say you're gonna go, DO IT! The only real reasons to back out are weddings, graduations and death, but only your own.... (just kidding). Although sometimes you can't help being broke, that's why I start this thread 6 MONTHS in advance! Unless you're Das Frem *ducks at the stuff Matt throws at her :D * , you really have no reason why you can't save up a little over a hundred bucks in 6 months!!! $35 for registration, $50 for hotels (that's for both nights and since we share rooms it usually isn't even that much!), $25 for Raush Creek (to drive, ride alongs are $5), the rest for food and gas--- and that's only if you're going both days. Maybe more for gas if you live farther, but still. Yes, it is the most expensive run all year, but it's also the most fun IMHO. If it were up to me it'd be free for everyone, but I haven't won the lotto yet!

Jeez, who does that sound like :D (I'm 24 and i drive a rollback everywhere from VA beach to Connecticut). I got a MothaF'n Job!!!!!! Finally!!!!

I'm a photojournalist for the Fox affliate in town, meaning I shoot and edit news packages, do live shots, the whole mess. Quite fun actually, and they send me a paycheck every so often (the best part!). So depending on how my schedule is, I might actually have a chance of going this year. Too bad they can't advance me my first paycheck, I'm going nuts, I havn't had any spending cash in over 6 months now!!!!! I'm sooooooo beyond broke, moved back in the folks and all. Probally won't have anything added to either truck by AFN that I didn't have last year, but I'll do my best to get there.

good to hear about the job matt, hope you can make it out, don't matter if you have done anything to the trucks just as long as you make it, i know a bunch of us miss having you around for run

Camping is cool, usually I have no problem with it, buuuuuuuut: We're all going to be tired and probably have little sleep from talking to each other til the wee hours again, plus we have no idea whether it'll be blazing hot out, raining, or what this year, which is why my butt is staying in a hotel both nights. I'm not taking any chances this year!!!!

Up to you all where you want to sleep, I'll post addresses of campgrounds soon for those who would rather camp overnight. (Tara, you're welcome to stay in the room with Bri and I and whoever else decides they wanna listen to me yap all night).

Note to those who don't like sharing rooms: We always split rooms to save money and most of us are like family so it's really no big issue, but if you'd rather have a room to yourself and pals you bring/ your girlfriend or boyfriend/ whatever, you need to let me know so I can reserve you one!!!

uhhhh.... there's a racetrack called South Mountain Dragway about 20-25 minutes from Carlisle Fairgrounds, but I don't know if you want to go there....

It's only a 1/8th strip with a max capacity of maybe 150 people, and it's right smack in the middle of a mushroom farm (wanna guess what they grow mushrooms in??) and very close to several cow farms.... :fart:

lindsy, as for the diamond plate, I got an extra center console piece from harrys.... it just happened to get put on top of a piece of diamond plate.... thursday night I saw the 2 together and thats what I came up with.... I think your geograpicly challenged.... your about 1.5 hrs directly south of me, and it takes me about 1.5 hrs to get to Carlisle from here... your alot closer to Carlisle then 2 hrs. Pittsburgh is about 3 to 3.5 hrs. from Carlisle.

Definitely have to rethink my favorite moments from last year....Have to say the expressions when we got to Spare Tire creek crossing and everybody saw how insanely deep it was from all the rain is my favorite now. Especially how the worried look on Matt's face changed to one of subtle glee when Kevin reminded him he had a snorkel :D

Some sag, some don't. Mine did and I just put the leaf packs from a 4-door in.

perilli scorpion? tires are really nice!, but also depends on what ur use is. Street or off roading. I've been thinking of throwing on some BFG's All terriane but i kinda personally like the looks of the newer tires found on the explores 2004, rugged trail i think is the style now.

The All Terrains are a great all around tire. I do mainly on road driving with mine and they've been wonderful. Suprisingly quite for how open the tread is. I mainly bought it cuz it has a nice tread pattern on it :p

Chip Miller passed away at approximately 12:30am CST on March 25 at the Mayo Clinic from complications related to Amyloidosis. He was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments.

Miller was diagnosed with primary Amyloidosis in December 2003. The rare plasma cell disorder, which attacks the body's main organs, affects about 2,000 people each year. Currently, there is no cure.




After the diagnosis, Chip and his wife, Judy, established a Web site at CaringBridge to keep family and friends updated during diagnosis and treatment. Visitors to the site were able to read Chip's patient journal and leave words of support in the guest book. Chip and Judy used this site to communicate with the many, many well-wishers who had expressed their concern.

Chip and Bill Miller started the first automotive event at Carlisle in 1974. Their business has grown to 12 automotive events this year, including Chip's favorite, Corvettes at Carlisle. Each year, more than half a million people come to events at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.


His interest in automobiles began when, as a child, he saw a magazine in a gutter with a custom car on the cover. He became fascinated with Chevrolet Corvettes after seeing an ad for a new 1957 Corvette. Chip has owned more than 80 Corvettes in his life, as well as many other vehicles. He was very interested in racing, especially vintage Corvettes.

Miller was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Shelby Owners Club and at least a dozen Corvette clubs.



Chip remained positive until the end and continued to think of others rather than himself. "It shows how selfless Chip is and the wonderful person he is," said Diane Vaughn, co-worker and friend of Chip's for more than 20 years. "He wants to widen the knowledge of this disease so that through him, others will live."

I work at a Pediatric Trach/Vent (Pulmonary) facility and I am going to start in a Hospital Cardiac Cath Lab soon..... I am on my feet at least 55 of the 60 hours that I work.... I am a supervisor but I do take on a full assignment with a case load of 10-12 critical patients.. with meds, treatments, and ventilators and monitors alarming.... it's a busy place.... not only do I have to be a nurse...but when the respiratory therapists aren't scheduled, call out or don't show up....guess who does that too.....

so yeah I win this one it's why I am 38 and look 60 lol

I figure that's easier than me asking everyone to post if they need a hotel one night or two, if they need directions, if they wanna wheel on Sunday, etc.

Dkl 2k2- the plan is to hang out in carlisle friday night, attend the show Saturday day, leave for Pine grove, Pa saturday evening and hang out up there (Raush creek off road park-it's about an hour away), then Wheel on Sunday in the park. Each person has their own schedule though- some can make it to all days, some can't: it's all up to you what you can do and when ;)

auh, my drives nice, i get on the turnpike and just keep on going for about 3 hours, the dad says its an easy ride, we'll see....and ouch 16 hours, i can't even comprehend driving that far.

Since everyone's coming in at a different time, i suggest you guys talk amongst yourselves in Pm's, Im's, etc and figure out a place to meet up with others who will be heading by you on their way down.

As for the Carlisle hotel- I'm making reservations at the SLEEP INN, exit 47 off I-81 again this year, probably at $120 per room per night. This sounds like a lot, but 4-5 people to a room makes it more like $30-35 per person. If you want privacy cause you're bringing your gal/wife or guy/hubby etc and you DO NOT want to share a room, call and make yourself a reservation! Otherwise, yer butt is drawin' straws and whoever gets short straw gets a bed, ok?

If you wanna camp or stay in another hotel, that's fine! But I suggest you reserve it NOW- they'll be all gone this time next month. As for RAUSH CREEK saturday night, we'll be staying at the same COMFORT INN we always stay at (because we all know how much Blee loves "Bruth, the counter man" *waggles hand in a effeminate way* :D ) I have to check on room prices, but they should be lower with our RC discount.

No, I got it back but the engine blew after 7 miles. Now I'm planning to sue the dealership. I want them to buy my explorer for book value. Something they did caused my motor to blow and I don't want a car that has had a engine swap. It will never be the same again, no matter how good the job is. As far as I'm concerned, they just bought themselves a headache.

I believe we're are registerring as Serious Explorations or Explorer4x4.com if I recall. I believe its $35 to register and normally we share a hotel room between 4 or 5 of us, I believe the hotel rooms are spacious out there but not 100% sure. You also need $35 to get into Rausch Creek for wheeling after AFN.

Now we just need to find somewhere that'll make this for cheap!

We're staying at the Sleep Inn in Carlisle friday night (i think that's what it is.... I'll look up the name tomorrow- it's the same one we stayed in last year!), cost is about $35, staying in the Comfort Inn in Pine Grove, pa saturday night, probably $35 a person as well. Of course there's room for you, Bobby! Everyone makes up their mind which room to sleep in and with who when we get there (Ok....now that REALLY didn't sound right........) Uhm, I mean... erm... lol. Sleep in whichever room you pass out in, I'm sure we'll all be exhausted from BSing for hours on end!

Well, I've learned yet another thing about Carlisle......

From now on I make the damn hotel reservations at least 3 months in advance! Draper, I dunno how on Earth you got a room at the Sleep Inn- the lady told me they've been booked solid since March! No big deal as long as you guys don't mind driving an extra 15 minutes....

I got reservations at the Econolodge in Wormleysville, Pa, which is roughly 15 miles north of Carlisle at the intersection of Routes 11 and 15. A few good things about this:
1) Coming in from the north bypasses most of the traffic we always get stuck in
2) Instead of the rooms being $150+ a night, I got them for $71.25/night
3) If we pay more to sleep in town, we'd still only have one bed per room, the Econolodge has two queen sized's in every room
4) You'll be far enough from the constant traffic jam that going out to get dinner won't take all night!

The Comfort Inn at Pine Grove (Rausch Creek) loves us still- no problems getting rooms there for $67.99 a night though.

If anyone has any problem with the new set up, by all means let me know and I'll try to work something out. I'm really sorry I couldn't get us the hotel in town!

I spoke to Lynn with Rausch Creek today (For anyone who didn't see this month's issue of "4wheeler", Rc got an honorable mention as a hot new 'wheelin spot :D ). We're good to go for June 6th!!! She thinks that since some of us have been there a few times already that we'll be fine without a guide (Who would cost $135 anyway :eek: ). She even remembered the 'allergy' I put on my Rc card (Severe allergic reaction to Chevies).

You don't need a 33" spare.. You can run with a spare that gets you out of the park. I've seen trucks with 35s running 33s or smaller as spares there in my two trips out there so far.

Okay guys I've decided to bring a mini charcoal grill so we can cook some food off the grill cause if you never been to any events like AFN or Raceway, NJ swapmeet, food is extremely expensive and beverages too. If anyone wants to bring some burgers, dogs, etc.. Then feel free to, I'll bring a 50 some quart cooler and maybe a small one too.. Don't forget to bring some chairs and a canopy since the sun more than likely will be blazing that day if we're lucky..

Responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted; however, disorderly or intoxicated person will npt be tolerated. furnishing of alcoholic beverages to minors is prohibited. Pennsylvania State Law considers anyone under the age of 21 a minor. No glass bottles. This is the policy for the Carlisle Fairgrounds, if you going to Carlisle Custom Compact at Harrisburg there is NO alcoholic beverage allowed.

Hey Guys. Just read the post. Want to try and meet up with you guys on the 5th. Can someone get me directions. I live right outside of Atlantic City, NJ.

WOW, every one have been busy here, I have a useless george forman grill my goofy x gal pal gave me ,, we could use that , still in the box never been used,, ( Dont cook often) uhm seems like a few poeple in here are getting a little routy!!! Thinking of crashing in my truck on the saturday night,, lol!!!!! seems like a few of us will be doing it, , how far north do u think the hotels will be booked up for the night,,

Sorry i keep forgettting to be more specific with the hotel info guys and gals- I have 5 rooms reserved already for Carlisle at the Wormleysburg Econolodge, so you don't need to make reservations (one person I spoke with wanted a seperate room for himself and his lady, I'll try and call tomorrow for a sixth room for ya, man ;) ). Up to 5 people can fit comfortably in each room, but by the looks of things we should only have 3-4 in each. Please bring CASH with you to make things easier!!!!!! Should only be $10-15 a night per person.

We also have 4 rooms reserved for the next night in Pine Grove so we can go wheelin Sunday- cost will be roughly the same!

On an aside, no one make fun of my busted @$$ altezza, ok?? Some dickhead at work must have backed into Jack and broken it :mad:
