I've got a 95 XLT 4x4 that is loaded with most every option. I noticed on a friend's 95 Ltd, that he has a trip computer in his center console.

Does anyone know if the wiring harness is standard across the models? Can I get the computer from a junked Explorer and install it in mine?

I would love to do this to my 98 xlt as well. Do you think there is a lot of work to be done?

it can be done, but its not worth it. one guy did it (i forget who) and he said it took him 22 man hours and im sure plenty of cash and frustration. you dont really get anything too useful from the computer, its just a cool little gadget. i wish i had one, but im not spending 22 hours doing it :) good luck if you wanna try.
