anyone in austrailia know where to get a code scanner for a 97 ex?
or can i arrange with someone in the U.S to get me one there and i will do a $ transfer...
i can send money and cost of shipping before scanner is brought
any help would be good

Remember, since your have a '97 you have ODB-II and not EEC-IV.
the eec-IV scanners are inexpensive (< $40 US).
ODB scanner can get expensive.. Auto x ray I belive is a common one that is a cable that hooks to a laptop to read the codes.
Stand alone units can range from low end of $100+ US to a multiple thousands $$ US.
There is one out there called Car Chip that not only can scan the codes, but it also can track multiple inputs for the last bit of time (I think it was 30 seconds or something like that). I belive you plug it into the odb-II port then put it into your laptop to read what it found.

Also check out the difference between a code reader and a scanner. people use the words interchargeably and they are NOT ! A code reader will give you MIL codes only. A scanner will give you actual data output steam info in addition. Hence the difference in price. Do a search you will find a thread showing the difference.
