Have you looked at KKMs? It's not technically a cold air intake but replaces the stock intake box. K&N I thought made a cold air intake also for X's.

what is kkm? im new to this explorer modding. :)

again, it isnt a true cold air intake, but tests and research have proven that when driving, the air that is actually being sucked in is only a few degrees higher than the ambient air temp, so basicallly, its about as cold as it is going to get... plus the added benefit of more air flow and free flowing air tract.....

Also if your state has emissions testing, a KKM isn't CARB certified, so then K&N would be better fit. I've heard of the MAC intakes, but am not sure if they're certified, someone else may be able to tell you that.

so it doesnt have t obe CARB certified... CARB Cert or Exemption Order # only applies to California.. hence Californa Air Resources Boarb (CARB)

i cant justify paying $100 for that when i can buy the K&N and make a homemade CAI look just as good, flow just as good for less than 1/2 price.

if it was a nice polished one like ebay then yea. but even on ebay they like $50-60.

Really, I didn't know what CARB stood for. I just knew I didn't have any testing to worry about.
